I’m happy to see Fall has arrived – Fall, glorious Fall, even if it is the prelude to Winter, I’ve had enough of the heat and humidity. We got very chilly and fast. Is this photo taken near your home or back in Connecticut Barbara?
It does look like a photo, doesn’t it, Linda? But it’s a painting! He must be a super talented painter to make it look so realistic. Same thing happened here, today it’s in the 60s and drizzling all day long. Very autumn – I love it!
I am impressed that it’s a painting Barbara – I would not have guessed! It’s lovely – our favorite time of year. I just heard on the news/weather report that because we cooled down so quickly and have had a lot of rain (it rained last weekend, all day both days), we might get some good leaf colors this year. Something to look forward to for both of us!
I will have to wait until November to see some of those expected good leaf colors! 🍂 (I’m getting used to a later fall and earlier spring down south here.)
I think you are having a crummy weekend if my weather person is to be believed. He says “the Carolinas are going to deal with what we had last weekend.” (Two very rainy, all-day rains). It is beautiful today – I would be out enjoying it, but my car door handle fell off and I had to take the car in for service. I was there at 8:00 a.m. to drop it off and walked home as they weren’t starting it right away – I wished I had gloves as it was downright nippy!
Actually those two rainy days hit us Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures dropping from the 90s into the 60s. Looks like we’ll be lucky on Saturday, it’s supposed to be sunny and pleasant and in the 70s – yay! And I’ve got plans to finally get to the Outlandish Hillsborough Scottish Festival with my sister-in-law. Hillsborough (one town north of us) was a setting in the Outlander book series, so the festival has a colonial Outlander theme. The town was also mentioned in the TV series.
That’s good news Barbara, a nice sunny weekend, far enough away from the nasty Nor’easter. We have pleasant temps too, so I’m also going to make the most of it. The month of September has been full of house and car debacles, so I’m free of them for three days thankfully. We have a Highland Festival in Michigan too, but I’ve never been to it, but I worked with a Scottish gal years ago and they loved going; her hubby and sons even wore their kilts. Have fun!
It’s kind of amazing how big this state is. On the coast they were battered by that nor’easter and inland here we had perfect weather. We saw a few people wearing kilts at this festival but we were disappointed because it was small and they didn’t have the things I look forward to, like sheep herding demonstrations, and highland games, and Celtic harps and bagpipes. I’m told now I have to go to a festival in July in the mountains if I want to see all that stuff! 🍂
I should have thought about how far inland you live, so you were able to be unscathed by this bad nor’easter. Oh, that’s too bad the festival was on such a small scale – will you two consider going in July for a bigger festival? Having it in the mountains might make it a little cooler.
Wish I felt like singing ‘when night’s decay ushers in a drearier day!’ I guess I could work on that. 😉
We had a dreary day yesterday, temps in the 60s and drizzle all day long. It was a welcome change, though, from the endless heat waves we had all summer. 🌧️
