Absence disembodies — so does Death
Hiding individuals from the Earth
Superstition helps, as well as love —
Tenderness decreases as we prove —

Barbara, you’re such a good writer that I hesitate to make this suggestion (but I will, because it helped me deal with my own grief so much!). Try your hand at some poetry. Seriously! You don’t have to publish it here if you don’t want, but it can truly help to organize your feelings and thoughts in a way that nothing else can. I feel your pain, Friend, and I’m sending you a virtual hug. Hang in there — Time is a great healer, and it’s not been long enough yet for much of your pain to ease up (not go away, just ease a bit!)
