   1. He does seem to be quoted everywhere, even on countless refrigerator magnets and coffee cups in gift shops! Wonder if there are any good biographies available… His words are very lyrical…

3. I love your combination of paintings and theatre. One of the most memorable paintings I ever saw was of a seashore with a backlit wave by artist Leonard Lane, called Summer Song. Your Blog reminds me of that painting. Jane

   1. Hi Jane, and welcome to By the Sea! I edited the artist’s name for you. Also looked him up as I’m not familiar with Leonard Lane. I found two of his paintings of the ocean online, but not Summer Song. Perhaps some day I’ll find it! Thanks for your kind words…

4. Hi Barbara. I saw the painting 30 years ago, as a student. I’ve thought about it all my life. Leonard Lane died shortly afterward and I think his family has most of his paintings.
