My 9th-great-grandfather, Benjamin Bartlett, son of Robert & Mary (Warren) Bartlett, was born c. 1629, and died 28 August 1691 in Duxbury, Massachusetts. He married (as his second wife) Sarah Brewster, who was born c. 1635, and died before 21 January 1679 in Duxbury, daughter of Love & Sarah (Collier) Brewster.
Benjamin had married (as his first wife) Susanna Jenney, who was born c. 1634, and died before 4 April 1654, daughter of John & Sarah (Cary) Jenney.
Benjamin married (as his third wife) Cecilia (—), who was born c. 1630, and died after 1 September 1691.
Benjamin & Sarah were the parents of at least three children:
1. Benjamin Bartlett (my 8th-great-grandfather), born c. 1658, died before 25 April 1724 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. He married 1 December 1676 in Duxbury, Ruth Peabody, who was born there 27 June 1658, and died there 27 March 1725, daughter of William & Elizabeth (Alden) Peabody.
2. Samuel Bartlett, born c. 1662, died 9 December 1713 in Duxbury. He married (as her first husband) 2 August 1683 in Duxbury, Hannah Peabody, who was born there 15 October 1662, and died 29 April 1723 in Plymouth, daughter of William & Elizabeth (Alden) Peabody.
3. Rebecca Bartlett, born c. 1664, died 14 December 1741 in Duxbury. She married (as her first husband) c. 1679, William Bradford, who was born 11 March 1655 in Plymouth, and died there 5 July 1687, son of William & Alice (Richards) Bradford.
Rebecca married (as her second husband and as his second wife) after 21 August 1691, Robert Stanford, who was born c. 1644, and died 15 May 1721 in Duxbury, widower of Mary (Howland) (Williamson) Stanford.
Rebecca married (as her third husband and as his second wife) 30 January 1729 in Duxbury, Caleb Sampson, who was born c. 1658, and died before 3 March 1747 in Duxbury, son of Henry & Ann (Plummer) Sampson, and widower of Mercy (Standish) Sampson.
Benjamin was the father of three other children. Beacuse their birth dates are estimated and because the dates of Benjamin’s marriages are unknown it is not certain which mother(s) they belong to:
1. Ebenezer Bartlett, born c. 1666, died before 1 March 1698. He married (as her first husband) c. 1693, Hannah Bryant, who was born 2 December 1668 in Plymouth, and died after 15 August 1725 in Duxbury, daughter of John & Abigail (Bryant) Bryant.
2. Sarah Bartlett, born c. 1668, died 20 February 1688 in Plymouth. She married (as his first wife) 28 December 1687 in Duxbury, Robert Bartlett, who was born c. 1663, and died 3 January 1718 in Plymouth, son of Joseph & Hannah (Pope) Bartlett.
3. Ichabod Bartlett, born c. 1672, died before 1 January 1717 in Duxbury. He married (as his first wife) 28 December 1699 in Marshfield, Massachusetts, Elizabeth Waterman, who was born there 7 September 1679, and died there in October 1708, daughter of Joseph & Sarah (Snow) Waterman.
Ichabod married (as his second wife) 14 November 1709 in Duxbury, Desire Arnold, who was born c. 1684, and died 11 December 1715 in Duxbury, daughter of Seth & Elizabeth (Gray) Arnold.
