embracing life

One must say Yes to life, and embrace it wherever it is found – and it is found in terrible places… For nothing is fixed, forever and forever, it is not fixed; the earth is always shifting, the light is always changing, the sea does not cease to grind down rock. Generations do not cease to be born, and we are responsible to them because we are the only witnesses they have. The sea rises, the light fails, lovers cling to each other, and children cling to us. The moment we cease to hold each other, the moment we break faith with one another, the sea engulfs us and the light goes out.

    1. Indeed – change is always with us as our lives unfold so it is good to embrace it, moment to moment!

    1. Thank you, Sheryl! I’m happy you’re enjoying the combinations – I have a lot of fun doing them…

  1. “The moment we cease to hold each other, the moment we break faith with one another, the sea engulfs us and the light goes out.”
The moment we cease to be for each other, the world around us will overcome when standing alone. Beautiful words as always. Happy Holidays my friend.

    1. Words to show how we are all in this together… Holiday blessings to you and your wonderful family, Island Traveler!

    1. I’m drawn to seascapes too, Jane, they always calm me down, even if they’re stormy. And the light playing with the sea changes throughout the day and night and as the seasons change…
