Shurtleff, William & Deborah Ransom

My 6th-great-grandfather, William Shurtleff, son of Abiel & Lydia (Barnes) Shurtleff, was born 8 September 1713 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and died 15 December 1802 in Carver, Massachusetts. He married 2 April 1734 in Plympton, Massachusetts Deborah Ransom, who was born there 3 May 1714, and died 2 April 1798 in Carver, daughter of Robert & Anne (Waterman) Ransom.

Deborah & William were the parents of eleven children:

1. Lydia Shurtleff, born 12 November 1734 in Carver, died there 15 April 1819.

2. Ebenezer Shurtleff, born 5 June 1736 in Plympton, died 25 April 1776 in Plymouth. He married 22 March 1759 in Plympton, Mary Pratt, who was born there 12 November 1732, and died 1 December 1812 in Carver, daughter of Benjamin & Margaret (Rickard) Pratt.

3. Peter Shurtleff, born 10 September 1738 in Plympton, died 26 January 1818 in Carver. He married 5 November 1767 in Plympton, Rebecca Holmes, who was born 13 January 1747 in Plymouth, and died 1 June 1812 in Carver, daughter of Sylvanus & Mercy (Harlow) Holmes.

4. Sarah Shurtleff, born 17 September 1741 in Carver, died 18 April 1813 in Plymouth. She married (as his third wife) 28 September 1760 in Plympton, Benjamin Bagnell, who was baptized 19 December 1724, son of Richard & Elizabeth (Poland) Bagnell, and widower of Hannah (Jackson) Bagnell, and widower of Sarah (Totman) Bagnell.

5. William Shurtleff (my 5th-great-grandfather), born 22 April 1743 in Plympton, died 15 May 1790 in Middleborough, Massachusetts. He married 16 November 1769 in Middleborough, his first cousin, once removed, Ruth Shaw, who was born c. 1749, and died c. 1790, daughter of Elkanah & Elizabeth (Atwood) Shaw.

6. Anna Shurtleff, born 19 August 1745 in Carver, died there 28 February 1810. She married 30 October 1765 in Pympton, Jabez Maxham, who was born 27 April 1743 in Middleborough, and died 19 October 1831 in Carver, son of Edmund & Abigail (Ellis) Maxham.

7. John Shurtleff, born 28 December 1747 in Carver, died 22 May 1813 in Weathersfield, Vermont. He married 2 April 1772 in Plympton, Mercy Goward, who was born c. 1747, and died 26 May 1813 in Weathersfield.

8. Isaac Shurtleff, born 5 September 1750 in Carver, died at sea.

9. Robert Shurtleff, born 1 April 1753 in Plympton, died 5 April 1795 in Carver. He married c. 1775, Mary Atwood, who was born 18 February 1752 in Plympton, and died 14 December 1838 in Middleborough, daughter of Nathaniel & Susanna Silence (Shurtleff) Atwood.

10. Deborah Shurtleff, born 1 March 1755 in Plympton, died 7 June 1845 in Carver.

11. Priscilla Shurtleff, born 1 December 1757 in Plympton, died 22 February 1798 in Carver.
