My 7th-great-grandfather, Joshua Hopkins, son of Joshua & Mary (Cole) Hopkins, was born 20 February 1698 in Eastham, Massachusetts and died there 30 January 1780. He married 1 October 1724 in Eastham, Priscilla Curtis, who was born 27 January 1696 in Topsfield, Massachusetts, and died in April 1772 in Eastham, daughter of John & Priscilla (Gould) Curtis.
Joshua was a shoemaker like his father and Mary was a homemaker.
Joshua & Priscilla were the parents of three children:
1. Joshua Hopkins (my 6th-great-grandfather), born 18 July 1725 in Eastham, died before 15 November 1775. He married 14 May 1747 in Eastham, Rebecca Sparrow, who was born there 27 January 1727, and died c. 1798, daughter of Richard & Hannah (Shaw) Sparrow. Joshua & Rebecca were the parents of ten children.
2. Priscilla Hopkins, born 7 June 1728 in Eastham, died unmarried c. 1818, age 90.
3. Hannah Hopkins, born 30 July 1729 in Eastham, no further record.
