After reading yesterday’s post, Janet, who lives in Connecticut, tried to post this picture in her comment. It’s a bottle of maple syrup! But my blog doesn’t support pictures in comments so she texted it to me and I decided to share it here. Thank you for the sweet gesture, my friend! It brought back to my mind the memory of a spring equinox we shared fifteen years ago, when we went to the Hebron Maple Festival. I miss the smell of boiling maple sap in New England. AI describes it “as a woodsy, caramel-like fragrance that signifies the start of spring and the process of making maple syrup.”
This is a wonderful look at spring in New England, Barbara, in words and Janet’s photo. I enjoyed it so much, thank you.
Thank you so much, Jet!
Iconic spring in New England. 🙂
Yes, quintessential! 🙂
A wonderful photo and a great memory. So glad you shared it here. Very spring-like.
So glad you enjoyed Janet’s photo. The first day of spring down south here is very different.
What a nice memory! I’m glad Janet’s photo brought back a happy time for you to enjoy again.
Thank you, Debbie! I knew I would miss the ocean and glacial erratics in the woods, but I am surprised by how much I miss maple syrup and apple picking.
How nice – the “real deal” and what a nice memory for you to relive growing up/celebrating maple syrup time in Connecticut.
It was so nice — getting that picture from Janet made my day!
That was very thoughtful of Janet to do that after your post!
