  1. Just what I was waiting to see Barbara! The fawn is so sweet. 🙂

Btw I have a contract on my old house and a contract on a new build house. Not a perfect as where you landed, but very sweet for Yorkie an me. We close on both Aug 22. I’m so happy!

    1. Congratulations, TD!!! 🙂 I’m so happy for you! A new build house sounds very exciting! Do you get to pick out colors and finishes and appliances and all that kind of stuff? Will you be staying in Texas? And how are you managing in that horrible dome of heat I keep hearing about on the news?

      1. It was placed on the market already completed, so no I didn’t get to pick anything. But I love it! Yes, it is in Corpus Christi, TX about 3 miles from where I am now. Yorkie and I will continue to walk the bay front and go the the beach. The heat is hotter than hot. We stay inside the AC and do all our outdoor activities before 10 in the morning. There will be song birds at the new house so I’m hoping to attract Cardinals and homing birds. Move in end of August. 🙂

        1. I’m so happy for you, TD, finding a new place that you love! And so close to the water which you are so familiar with and which will bring you hours of happiness and peace. I’m learning all about living indoors with central air-conditioning, which we’ve never had before, just the sleeve in the wall kind, one for each room as needed. You’re smart not to go outside after 10 am. We’re getting a lot of birds, here, too, and are thinking about starting to put food out in the feeders that the last tenant left behind. 🙂

          1. “You are learning all about living indoors with central air conditioning” made me giggle tonight Barbara! You’d better fill up those feeders before the birds retaliate!! 😉

          2. Oh I forgot… I was at the new house doing my punch list with my realtor this morning. When we went to the backyard feathery went flying! Apparently a mama mourning bird was startled to hear us. There’s an eggshell on the ground and I saw a nest… so chicks up there too! I’m thrilled. Your mother is still looking over us!

          3. I hope the mourning dove will be one of your best new neighbors. 💕 I haven’t seen one down here yet, although I haven’t been outside that much. 😉

  2. That fawn is so sweet and says “pretty please Barbara – I see you and Tim eating blueberries – would you pass a few more my way please?” P.S. – I’d be over the moon to see this little fawn right at my house – lucky you!

    1. I was over the moon! At sunrise I opened the curtains across the bay window in my kitchen and there they were, two little fawns nibbling on the bushes. It was magical. I went to get my camera and when I came back they were still there.

      1. That is so wonderful – yes, I’d definitely be over the moon seeing them. The whole time I’d be running to get the camera, I would be thinking “please don’t move, please don’t move.”

  3. There’s something almost magical about having such a precious little one visit your home, Barbara! Don’t you wish you could have pet him? His fur looks so soft, and his eyes are so expressive. Maybe he’s the Welcome Wagon representative, ha!

    1. It was very magical, Debbie, a few moments of bliss I will remember forever. ♡ I did let a doe eat a blueberry from my hand, which was incredible, but I won’t do it again out of worry about possible zoonotic diseases. My parents’ voices from my childhood keep warning me, “look, but don’t touch!”
