These flowers – particularly the first ones – made me remember our friend Robin, I think it was, who posted a photo of a ROSE – and it was clear that she had disappeared herself and had merged with the living sacred essence of the Rose. These first photos all had that numinous presence. The flowers love you right back 🙂 Thank you
You’re welcome, Leelah. The first picture is my favorite, and I don’t even know what it is called. Maybe a balloon flower? Blue is my favorite color and purple is a close second — it seems like a blend of both in that amazing light. Definitely has a numinous presence. I miss Robin’s posts! I hope she’s busy enjoying her grandchildren. 😉
Barbara, these are simply stunning — so much color and so many interesting shapes! Some I recognize, of course, but many I don’t. That doesn’t take away my appreciation of them, not one bit!
Thank you so much, Debbie! I was having the time of my life after being cooped up in the house during all the heat waves. The world seemed to be bursting with color and variety! So happy you enjoyed the pictures! 🙂
Thank you, Pam! I couldn’t believe how lovely they were. Tim finally had to sit down on a bench to wait while I was photographing what seemed like every single flower in that huge garden. 🙂
Your flower shots are beautiful and vibrant Barbara. Mother Nature has not given us the type of Summer we have enjoyed in the past, so seeing pretty blooms helps make up for it.
Thank you so much, Linda! We may not enjoy the heat and humidity but the flowers sure love it. 🙂 Everything has its pros and cons and it was good to focus on the good parts of summer for a short while.
Ours started Sunday and we have severe weather overnight and also on Thursday and Friday as well. This weekend will be nice and coolish too. So I’m really looking forward to going somewhere … the volatile weather is worrisome and tiresome too.
Hope you enjoy your coming weekend of pleasant weather! Ours looks a little iffy right now. Starting to hear the katydids at night, sure sign that summer is closer to ending…

The world smiles in flowers!
And her colors never go out of style!
These are beautiful, Barbara, a delightful gallery of colors! And each a work of art!!
P.S. Eliza said the quote I love!
Thank you, Donna! I love that Emerson quote, too. Mother Earth sure knows how to put together a vibrant spectacle for us!

Ahhh, we must appreciate the beauty of flowers during this too-fast summer. These are scrumptious.

The flowers are all pretty colors that scream summer. You have a gift for capturing them so clearly.
Thank you so much, Ally! I love the idea of colors screaming — it gives their presence a whole new dimension.

Yes indeed as we’ve been miserable with the heat and humidity and the flowers perk us up.
A silver lining to the cloud. We’re supposed to get a heat wave starting tomorrow. Sigh…
