Barbara – I love this crisp shot! The few wind-blown feathers at the gull’s bottom make me think of bloomers!
Thank you, Laurie! Those feathers do look like bloomers. 🙂 I love his little black toenails!
Wonderful quote; “startles the happy” love that phrase.
And wonderful gull! Their dignity once they’ve landed is ridiculous, yet delightful.
It’s so easy to believe a moment of happiness will last forever, startling when it doesn’t… I’ve been having so much fun with the gulls this summer!
Boy that quote is a head scratcher. I had to think about it for a bit.
It makes me think of the saying that nothing lasts forever, including our moods or states of mind…
This is such a beautiful shot, Barbara. So much detail. I love the quote, too. 🙂
Thank you so much, Robin! I wonder what was going on the gull’s mind at this moment. 🙂
I find gulls so fascinating. And, of course, Emily once again finds just the right words and puts them in just the ‘right order’. Lovely.
Thank you, Diane. I miss my gulls down here in North Carolina and I forgot to bring my book of Emily’s poems, too! Oh well, I will have to look for inspiration elsewhere…
What a gorgeous photo of this gull, Barbara!
Thank you so much, Kathy!
