Kit and his Family of Dragons live in these fireplace hearths and small buildings situated within this majestic beech. Known for their benevolence and magic, these dragon faeries guard and bless hearths and supply firewood in exchange for having a home. Built of stone and surrounded by trees, these castles are the year-round homes for dragon faeries that inspire artists to include sun-baked beech trees and brilliantly burning fireplaces in their paintings.

  1. What an extraordinary beech tree, Barbara! And the description of the dragon fairies and their ‘mission’ is enchanting and comforting too. Thank you so much for sharing all these delightful magical places and stories.

    1. I’m so pleased that you’re enjoying all these fairy dwellings, Diane, and the trees that hold, nurture and protect them. The property that surrounds the museum has many gorgeous old trees with lots of character and magical energy.

  2. Hi Barbara! I have wanted to visit your blog for a long time. I usually make a call back to people who “visit” me, and your blog I really enjoy, many good stories and pictures here. By the way, I get an email if you “like” any of my posts, but contrary to most of the others the email connected to your likes are not linked to your blog. But if you comment it is. In case you dont know..

    1. Hi Bente! I’m so glad you found your way over here and thank you for your kind comments about my blog. I love the breathtaking nature photographs of Norway that you share on your wonderful blog! I have some Norwegian ancestors and am drawn to your country.

I’ve been struggling to fix the “like” problem, and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to change that. I thing it has something to do with me being self-hosted for my main blog, and having a couple of private WordPress blogs for my family.

I welcome and appreciate your comments.
