science, mystery, wonder

Science is not meant to cure us of mystery, but to reinvent and reinvigorate it. … I love science, and it pains me to think that so many are terrified of the subject or feel that choosing science means you cannot also choose compassion, or the arts, or be awed by nature.

  1. Barbara,

Science to me allows my intellect to connect with spirit… In Thomas Moore’s books The Re-enchantment of Everyday Life he discusses this very fact…

    Well done!

    1. Thank you, island traveler! I’m excited and nervous at the same time. I like some features better but there are a few other things to be ironed out…

  2. Hi,
I have already commented on this post in your wordpress.com blog, just wanted to let you know I have put your new blog into my RSS feed and put your new link into the blogroll. All done and dusted. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Mags! You sound like you’re on top of things! 🙂 RSS feeds are a mystery to me – the “to do” list for Nate is getting longer and longer…

  3. I also commented on your wordpress post because I didn’t realize you’d already set up here. Goodness it looks marvelous.

Will we still get emails of each new blog post or do we have to sign up again?

    1. Thank you, Rosie! I keep feeling like I’m in over my head – Nate and I ran out of time yesterday so some things will have to wait until he has some free time.

The answer to your question is: I don’t know! There is an email subscription widget I took a peek at last night that looked complicated, but I was very tired. Will see how far I get with it this morning, otherwise I will wait for Nate this weekend…

  4. Barbara – I like your new digs! As a subscriber to your previous address, will I automatically receive an email notification each time you post? I see an “RSS Feed” up in the top right-hand corner of this blog, but I don’t see the “Email Subscription” spot to select.

    1. Hi Laurie – I added the Email Subscription widget but the WordPress.org widget seems to be different than the WordPress.com widget. You can try it and see what happens. It seems to be through FeedBurner, whatever that is…

    1. This one dropped and dragged, too, but when I tried to subscribe myself it said FeedBurner wasn’t connected. WordPress.org is different than WordPress.com in many ways…
