And why not? I like the idea of departed souls joining the stars.
For stardust you are and to the stars you will return…
Barbara,
Beautiful painting. I am not sure that I have seen this one?
I think dear Vincent used his “insanity” reach out, to use his creativity to expand and move beyond that place in his mind. To capture the divine in the everyday, which is something you do each time you share your quotes and pictures with the world around you!
I am Love, Jeff
Thank you for your very kind words, my friend. Sometimes I think insanity is the only appropriate response to the environment a person may find herself in. But the body-mind is such a delicate and intricate thing, it’s a wonder when it works well, and how can we be certain what “well” is…
Barbara – I love the quote and the painting. They’re both new to me. What a gift — thank you!
You’re so very welcome, Laurie! 🙂
I wanted to add this as well, I was looking for the Jane Oliver version which is the first one I had ever heard and was stunned by Josh Groban well do:
Will have to come back to this video if/when I get back to my own computer. Apparently I would have to download a plugin to view and listen to it and I don’t dare do that unless Tim says OK! Looking forward to it, though!
I’m back in business with my long suffering laptop now. Jeff, thank you so much for sharing this video, it was deeply moving and full of meaning. I have to confess that although I’ve heard many covers of “Vincent” I had never paid close attention to the lyrics until hearing this one. It’s perfect!
I also couldn’t help thinking about an old friend suffering from manic-depression, or bipolar or whatever they’re labeling it now, who shot himself in the head, ending his unbearably painful life, nine years ago. This world was never meant for one as beautiful as Joel, either, who was known for his kindness and his love of music and his guitar.
Ahhhh~~painting the stars~~how beautiful!
It’s dazzling celestial radiance, isn’t it?
This is so beautiful, Barbara. 🙂
Thank you, Robin!
All of the answers wait patiently for us in the sky. And because we can sometimes be a little slow to notice, they have all been given a light that is hard to ignore.
Your words are so poignant and beautiful, Aubrey! I hope you won’t mind if I add them to my quote collection? I will now be looking at stars in a whole new light – thank you so much!
Ohh, Vincent’s stars… aren’t they marvelous! This one I hadn’t seen. Thank you!
You’re welcome, Melissa! I’ll have to visit your blog soon and see what you’re painting! 🙂
Love the painting (haven’t seen it before), love the quote and would like to Thank Jeff S for introducing me to Josh Groban. What a beeoootiful voice.
What a gift Josh Groban has in his voice – so happy we get to hear it whenever we wish! He certainly made “Vincent” stand out in a whole new way to me… I’m glad you enjoyed the painting and the quote, and thanks to Jeff, the song!
Love this painting. Those who see the world in ways the rest of us don’t understand do suffer in this world. The song is a sad reminder.
Sad, but so true. Highly sensitive people sometimes have a really tough time while they’re still with us…
Stars truly do make us think about divinity and eternity. They remind us how small our preoccupations are in comparison to the universe!
Wonderful reminders, aren’t they? Helping us to keep our little molehills in perspective! 🙂
