I LOVE IT!
Me, too! 🙂
Simply wonderful! “Bits of a star gone wrong.” Can’t ask for higher praise! Hope you are both keeping well now…
Thanks, Julian, Tim’s tired but he’ll have this weekend to get some more rest. It is that stellar matter that makes us feel so connected to the universe…
Hi Barbara,
Eddington a very famous person indeed. He was a professor of Astronomy and experimental Philosophy in the early 1900’s.
He also is well known for studying Einstein’s theory of relativity. He also was able to prove Einstein’s theory that light bends.
A very interesting man, who loved anything to do with the stars. Beautiful chose Barbara, and a well chosen painting from Van Gogh as well.
Scientists are amazing people, dazzling the rest of us with wonder and amazement when they reveal and explain their findings about the infinitesimal and the astronomical. I’m happy you liked the quote and picture!
I am reminded of the song…We are stardust. We are golden…
Yes! ohhhh, Robin, thank you! How could I ever forget Joni Mitchell’s song!? Hope you don’t mind if I add it above… 🙂
Lovely Van Gogh painting and lovely imagery … stardust in our bones.
Thank you, Amiable…
Consider the ‘explosion’ that created the universe and it becomes a literal thing to be ‘stardust’. Hi.
A happy collision of the literal and the metaphorical…
Spot on!
Yes! Thanks, Val. 🙂
Hi Barbara,
Found you via Magsx2, it’s great to meet new bloggers.
I love the van Gogh picture.
And the Joni Mitchell lyrics are awesome.
Welcome, Gitwizard, it’s nice to meet you! I have to thank Robin for jogging my memory about the Joni Mitchell lyrics… Will have to check out your blog…
Just wonderful, Barbara, how you’ve put these quotes together with the van Gogh painting. “We are billion-year-old carbon”…so much to ponder!
Thank you, Cait! It’s mind-boggling when we think of it! I love the men walking by the tree and under the star, all the connections…
Thanks for bringing me here Barbara. Now that quote will really keep me pondering for a while!
I love painting and the Joni Mitchell song. (I’m going to go listen to it.)
Happy to keep you pondering and singing along, Rosie! 🙂
