My 5th-great-grandfather, Ichabod Tillson, son of Stephen & Janet (Murdock) Tillson, was born 25 April 1750 in Plympton, Massachusetts, and died c. 1822. He married 24 December 1778 in Middleborough, Massachusetts, Azuba Thomas, who was born there 28 December 1754, and died 12 April 1822 in Carver, Massachusetts, daughter of John & Mercy (Shaw) Thomas.
Azuba & Ichabod were the parents of ten children:
1. Thomas Tillson, born 10 January 1780 in Carver, died there 10 October 1829. He married 26 November 1807 in Carver, Elizabeth Barrows, who was born there 11 November 1785 and died there 29 August 1861, daughter of Andrew & Sarah (Perkins) Barrows.
2. Stephen Tillson, born 13 July 1781 in Carver, died there 29 February 1854. He married 1 March 1807 in Carver, Ruth Shaw, who was born there 2 March 1786, and died there 1 February 1871, daughter of Joseph & Lydia (Shaw) Shaw.
3. Mary Tillson, born 28 January 1783 in Carver, died 10 July 1826 in Middleborough. She married (as his first wife) 9 August 1804 in Carver, Rev. Jairus Gammons, who was born 30 March 1783 in Middleborough, and died there 13 March 1846, son of John & Hannah (Cole) Gammons.
4. Azuba Tillson, born 26 August 1784 in Carver, died there 20 January 1828. She married 4 July 1809 in Carver, Nathaniel Shurtleff, who was born there 14 September 1784, and died there 19 May 1841, son of Robert & Mary (Atwood) Shurtleff.
5. Ichabod Tillson (my 4th-great-grandfather), born 3 September 1786 in Carver, died 25 March 1862 in Middleborough. He married 23 April 1808 in Wareham, Massachusetts, Abigail “Nabby” Bump, who was born there 12 February 1787, and died there 19 November 1849, daughter of Lot & Abigail (Savery) Bump.
6. Janet Tillson, born 11 December 1788 in Carver, died there 17 February 1826. She married (as his first wife) 5 March 1810 in Carver, Zadock Wright, who was born there 16 June 1788, and died 20 June 1844 in Cortland, Ohio, son of Moses & Polly (Weston) Wright.
7. Hope Tillson, born 10 August 1791 in Carver, died 10 December 1860 in Pembroke, Massachusetts. She married 18 March 1814 in Kingston, Massachusetts, Friend Cushing, who was born there 30 July 1784, and died 26 October 1823 in Pembroke, son of Elijah & Anna (Thomas) Tillson.
8. John Tillson, born 3 September 1793 in Carver, died there 22 May 1868. He married (as his first wife) 7 March 1816 in Wareham, Susanna Shurtleff, who was born 14 March 1795 in Carver, and died there 13 December 1842, daughter of David & Mercy (Atwood) Shurtleff.
John married (as his second wife and as her second husband) 6 February 1844 in Carver, Susanna (Shaw) Perkins, who was born there 6 February 1793, and died there 15 June 1887, daughter of Sylvanus & Lydia (Atwood) Shaw, and widow of Sampson Perkins.
9. William Tillson, born 5 September 1795 in Carver, died 2 March 1862 in Loudonville, Ohio. He married 3 June 1827 in Carver, Clarissa Griffith, who was born there 20 Jul 1804, and died c. 1842, daughter of Ephraim & Clarissa (Atwood) Griffith.
10. Luther Tillson, born 12 January 1798 in Carver, died 8 October 1853 in Roxbury-Boston, Massachusetts. He married (as his first wife) 17 January 1822 in Middleborough, Joanna Adams LeBaron, who was born there 23 February 1801, and died 24 December 1825, daughter of Joseph & Margaret (Morse) LeBaron.
Luther married (as his second wife) 1 March 1827 in Middleborough, Cynthia LeBaron, who was born there 5 March 1799, and died 5 February 1886 in Boston, Massachusetts, daughter of Joseph & Margaret (Morse) LeBaron.
