Thompson, James & Mary

My 5th-great-grandfather, James Thompson, was probably born c. 1716 in Scotland, and died 30 January 1808 in Stonington, Connecticut. He married c. 1745, Mary (—), who was born c. 1730, and died 10 April 1803 in Stonington.

James & Mary lie buried in Thompson Cemetery, 676 Pendleton Hill Rd, North Stonington, Connecticut. On July 5, 2019, we finally located this cemetery. We had to climb up and over the stone wall because we couldn’t find a way to open the gate.

Searching front to back, we at last found Joseph & Mary’s stones, oddly facing the back stone wall, away from the gate. Worried about poison ivy, I squeezed between the wall and stones and managed to get these pictures.
