Thompson, Elias & Elizabeth Davis

My 4th-great-grandfather, Elias Thompson, son of James & Mary (—) Thompson, was born 8 June 1773 in Stonington, Connecticut, and died 6 March 1848 in Kendall, New York. He married 19 March 1795 in North Stonington, Connecticut, Elizabeth “Betsey” Davis, who was born 8 May 1776 in Hopkinton, Rhode Island, and died 31 December 1841 in Kendall, daughter of Joseph & Dorcas (—) Davis.

Elias and Betsy lived in the area of Stonington, CT which broke off into North Stonington in 1807. The last recorded birth of a child was in 1816, and in about 1819 the family moved to Rush, New York, which was in Ontario County at the time, later becoming Monroe County. Betsy’s mother and probably two brothers had moved there previously. They finally moved near Kendall, NY, by 1840, where they are buried.
