Tim’s 3rd-great-grandfather, Loren Grant Huntley, son of Leonard & Hannah (Wheeler) Huntley, was born 3 July 1827 in Canandaigua, New York, and died 13 July 1897 in Horton, Michigan. He married c. 1849 Mary Jane Fowler, who was born c. 1831, and died 31 January 1897, daughter of Levi & Anna (Howe) Fowler.
Loren & Mary were the parents of three children:
1. M. Carter Huntley, born 31 March 1852, died 10 September 1910 in Hanover, Michigan. He married (as her second husband) c. 1898, Orta Eugenia “Ortie” (Morehouse) Nevins, who was born 10 July 1873 in Hanover, and died there 23 December 1908, daughter of John & Esther Ann (Calkins) Morehouse, and widow of George D. Nevins.
2. Ermina “Mina” Huntley (Tim’s 2nd-great-grandmother), born 4 November 1855, died 30 December 1917 in Jackson, Michigan. She married 20 July 1873 in Summit, Michigan, George Washington Verplanck, who was born 25 March 1852, and died 28 February 1930 in Hanover, son of Henry Abraham & Catherine Ann (McMullen) Verplanck.
3. Bertha May Huntley, born in April 1863 in North Adams, Michigan. She married c. 1884, George Strong Wickman, who was born 9 October 1863 in Hanover, son of Henry & Mary Elvira (Strong) Wickman.
