My 7th-great-grandfather, Lt. Edmund Freeman, son of Edmund & Sarah (Mayo) Freeman, was born c. 1702 in Eastham, Massachusetts, and died 22 July 1782 in Orleans, Massachusetts. He married (as his second wife) 25 September 1729 in Eastham, Sarah Sparrow, who was born there 20 July 1708, and died 21 August 1790 in Orleans, daughter of Richard & Mercy (Cobb) Sparrow.
Edmund had married (as his first wife) 22 April 1725 in Eastham, Lois Paine, who was born there 29 September 1705, and died there 25 September 1729, daughter of Nicholas & Hannah (Higgins) Paine.
Edmund & Lois were the parents of a daughter:
1. Lois Freeman, born 3 September 1726 in Eastham, died 3 October 1790 in Orleans. She had an unmarried relationship, c. 1743, with a man 24 years her senior, Zebulon Young, who was born c. 1702 in Eastham, and died 29 December 1788 in Orleans, son of Nathaniel & Mercy (Davis) Young, and widower of Mercy (Sparrow) Young. Lois & Zebulon were the parents of a son.
Lois married 10 November 1748 in Eastham, Jesse Snow, who was born there 27 October 1709, and died there in April 1772, son of Micajah & Mercy (Young) Snow. Lois & Jesse were the parents of nine children.
Edmund & Sarah were the parents of two sons:
1. Jonathan Freeman (my 6th-great-grandfather), born 22 February 1731 in Eastham, died there 2 July 1768. He married 12 March 1752 in Eastham, Thankful Linnell, who was born there c. 1732, and died 28 May 1810 in Orleans, daughter of Thomas & Thankful (Hopkins) Linnell. Jonathan & Thankful were the parents of nine children.
2. Edmund Freeman, born 13 February 1732 in Eastham.
