First rehearse this song by note,
To each word a warbling note,
Hand in hand with fairy grace,
Will we sing and bless this place.

Happy Midsummer! In all Nordic countries the Midsummer weekend is a big holiday 🙂
Happy Midsummer, Tiny! I’ve read about Midsummer celebrations in Scandinavia and it sounds as exciting as Christmas. 🙂
It really is! I have so many good childhood memories of these Midsummer celebrations. This year I’ll be there in August and the days will not be as long, the sunset will be already at 10 p.m. 🙂
My sister, my friend and I have tried to adopt a few Scandinavian customs for our summer solstice celebrations, like decorating the trees with flowers, a maypole, strawberries for dessert, a little “bonfire.” Have a wonderful time on your trip home, Tiny! 🙂
PS – 10 p.m. was about the time the sun was setting when I visited Norway in May. I found that so enchanting and wondered what time it would be setting on the solstice…
I like the look of that little fairy. The fireflies may be fairies that we can *almost* see, but only barely.
She does rather look like a firefly, doesn’t she? I think I saw dozens of fairies in the trees a few nights ago. 🙂
