It is that dream we carry
that something miraculous will happen
that it must happen –
that time will open
that the heart will open
that doors will open
and that the rock face will open
that springs will gush forth –
that the dream will open
and that one morning we’ll glide in
to a harbour we didn’t know was there.

I’m not sure which is more beautiful. The painting or the poem. It’s a good thing I don’t have to make a choice. Wonderful pairing, Barbara. 🙂
Thank you so much, Robin! As we plan our trip to Norway it seems something miraculous is happening, my life-long dream is at long last coming true. 🙂
I agree with Robin — both the painting and the poem are exquisite!
Thank you, Laurie! I’m excited to think of the pictures of fjords I may get with own camera!
Oh my that poem speaks to me. Did you know we have fjords here in Canada ? In Newfoundland.
Sybil, I had no idea, but I did know that the Vikings explored Newfoundland over a thousand years ago. I googled fjords in Newfoundland and found some stunning photos of them. The world is so huge and there are countless wonders to be found just about everywhere.
I didn’t know that you were planning a trip to Norway, Barbara. How exciting! That would be like me planning a trip to England (which I may do one day!)….the homes of each of our ancestors.
“We’ll glide into a harbour we didn’t know was there”….I love that line.
I don’t mention our travel plans too often, Joanne, I’m afraid I will jinx them! I’ve been dreaming about this trip to Norway for as long as I can remember. I do hope you will also get a chance to glide into an English harbor some day and walk on the soil where so many of your ancestors have lived. Sometimes dreams do come true!
