Me, too, Laurie. When I was a child it was required viewing whenever a Jacques Cousteau special was on TV. Not that we watched against our will – the things he showed us with his underwater camera were always wonderful.
I’m still angry with France for sinking the Rainbow Warrior. lol. Love that quote. I moved to the seashore from land-locked (unless you count Hudson’s Bay) Ontario and never want to move back. I’d miss the ocean too much …
Had to do some research on the Rainbow Warrior – I wasn’t paying attention to the news at that point in my life as I was up to my elbows in caring for three children, a sick mother-in-law and an aunt. What a terrible thing – shame on France…
I’m with you, Sybil – I grew up fifty miles inland but loved my visits to my grandparents who were living out on Cape Cod. Moving down here to live by the sea (when I was 22) was the best move for me, the ocean often serving as my only link to sanity…
I have a tremendous respect for the work that Jacques Cousteau did. If I’m not mistaken, some of his grandchildren are continuing in his footsteps.

The picture and quote wonderfully capture how I feel when I visit the ocean.
Ah Sheryl, you have been caught spellbound in that net of wonder, too!

Ahhh, the net of wonder! I do like that. And the picture here.
I’m tickled pink that you enjoyed the quote and painting, Kathy!
