People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us.

Thank goodness we do have flowers to enjoy! This is a very beautiful painting Barbara, so gentle, and you can almost smell the fragrance of those beautiful blooms. 🙂
I thought so as well, Joanne – I could almost smell them, too. My grandfather told me that his mother cherished her bed of red peonies, so I always think of her when I see or smell a peony. 🙂
“Mad with joy”. I like that. I also love that the poet’s name is “Iris”.
Me, too, Sybil! 🙂 May we all often be mad with joy!
A few months ago I cultivated a $5/week habit of buying a small bunch of fresh cut flowers each time I go to the grocery store. The vase of our kitchen table is so uplifting!
I used to do that, too, Laurie – fresh flowers are definitely a day brightener! You’ve reminded me of something I miss doing – will have to remedy the situation on my next trip to the store…
Oh Wow!!!! Amazing painting.. Look at that!! What a beauty to start my day with! See how indulged the lady is; her face amid-st the flowers. Thank you Barbara, can we imagine life without flowers? Thank goodness we have such pretty’s 🙂
You’re welcome, Sonali, I’m so pleased the beauty of these flowers gave you such a wonderful start to your day! Flowers are so sweet and definitely one of life’s simple pleasures to be treasured. Our lives would not be quite the same without them. 🙂
Hi. The woman in the painting is so focussed on arranging her flowers. I don’t buy them often enough. Jane
I don’t buy flowers often enough, either, Jane. But I did buy a bouquet of sunflowers recently and they looked so cheerful on the dining room table!
