Don’t give me the whole truth,
don’t bring me the ocean for my thirst,
don’t give me heaven when I ask for light,
but give me a glimpse, a drop, a speck,
as birds carry dew drops from leaves
and the wind a grain of salt.

(The Ways of Water)
Hi,
What a brilliant photo, you can even see the veins in the leaf, and the beautiful drops of water, I love this close up.
“as birds carry drops from leaves” all so beautifully written.
I thought this was a stunning photo, too, Mags, so vivid and crisply detailed. I got a new book of poetry recently and was so delighted to find this photo for this poem. 🙂
The image is so jewel-like…better than a precious gem in my view!
I couldn’t agree with you more!
Hi Barbara, What a lovely post — so true that we can only bear so much at one time. Blessings, Ellen
Thank you, Ellen. A little at a time… I used to have a refrigerator magnet that said, “Please! One crisis at a time!” But even positive things and blessings we need time to learn how to appreciate the gifts…
Amazingly vivd colour for a leaf Barbara. Wouldn’t it be interesting to see a whole tree in this colour? 🙂
It would be amazing to see a whole tree in this shade of blue-green – I would be spellbound!
