in the blue night
frost haze, the sky glows
with the moon
pine tree tops
bend snow-blue, fade
into sky, frost, starlight.
the creak of boots.
rabbit tracks, deer tracks,
what do we know.

Hi Barbara. A lovely post. Poem and image express perfectly what winter says to me. I love the blueness of winter. The shadows on snow are sometimes so blue they remind me of sky or ocean. Jane
Oh, Jane, I love the blueness of winter, too. Sometimes I think it is my favorite season – there is something exhilarating about the sparkling sunshine and shadows on the snow…
nice post for a nice season! how are you doing Barbara? Its been quite a long time. I hope your hand is perfect by now! Hope you’r having a wonderful winter time *smiles*
I’m doing well, Sonali, very busy preparing for the holidays and planning vegan meals. My hand is healed for the most part, although it did a fair amount of aching after writing a few Christmas cards!
Hi,
A lovely photo and poem, well choosen for this time of year.
Thanks, Mags! I love deer and the moon so much. 🙂
Came by because you commented on Island Traveller’s blog. Just have to tell you your page is wonderfully mooded, really a treat to view. Beautiful, poetic, feeling. Just wanted to tell you I enjoyed my visit here. Just gorgeous pictures.
Welcome to my blog, Noeleen, and thank you so much for your kind words. Will have to visit your blog soon!
This poem–and the photo–makes me think of the crisp cold nights at this time of year. And how beautifully the full moon shines on the trees. Always enjoying pausing on the hearth of your blog for a few moments…
I very much enjoy your visits to my hearth, dearest Kathy. Lovely Luna, always a little more magical this time of year…
Lovely, Barbara!
Thank you, Ellen! 🙂
Frosty and cold, yet filled with so much warmth that it’s magical. Just wonderful Barbara!
Thank you, Donna! Luna has been so enchanting lately – I can hardly take my eyes off of her!
