This place of mine
never is entered by humans
come for conversation,
only by the mute moon’s light shafts
that slip in between the trees.

Hi,
Very nice. 🙂
Thanks, Mags! 🙂
Yes, speaks to the soul.
One of the blessings of solitude…
Great word picture!
Thanks, Jeff!
Barbara – I received my email notification this morning — WHOOHOO! And what a lovely post it is. “…only by the mute moon’s light shafts.” Beautiful!
Thank you, Laurie. YES!!! I couldn’t wait until I told Tim how clever I was for figuring out a way to get the email notifications to work again. I missed hearing from you!
This is wonderful. 🙂
Thank you, Robin!
Hi Barbara,
I also received the email notice! woohoo from me
I’ve read this several times and the more I read Saigyō Hōshi’s few lines the more I love them. Any idea when he wrote them?
I can only answer with a mute ((( —- )))
Yes!!!
According to Wikipedia he was a famous Japanese poet of the late Heian and early Kamakura period. He was born in 1118 and died in 1190. A very long time ago…
Time alone with the moon and the trees – bliss.
Beautiful… I can see that moonlight in the words. 🙂
Thank you, Val! Moonlight is a wonderful companion. 🙂
