It must be those brief moments
when nothing has happened – nor is going to.
Tiny moments, like islands in the ocean
beyond the grey continent of our ordinary days.
There, sometimes, you meet your own heart
like someone you’ve never known.
~ Hans Børli

“Tiny moments, like islands in the ocean
beyond the grey continent of our ordinary days”
I love those lines!
Islands in the great sea of time… so many lovely metaphors!
interesting lines… the flow of time, especially, the recognition of new in every single moment experienced. The island sounds like a big comparison to me… of living, striving to find new treasures, as island itself is, that may perhaps remain away in the ocean, away from our hearts and eyes…
Thank you for this nice tiny moment given, Barbara! 🙂
You’re welcome, Irina! I’m hoping to visit a literal island this summer and to find new tiny moments there…
Hi Barbara,
A very thoughtful poem, very nice, does make one think.
I’m happy the poem gave you some food for thought, magsx2!
….tiny moments, like islands in the ocean beyond the gray continent of our ordinary days…..
These words have stayed with me today 🙂
Tiny moments, when we meet our own hearts anew, on the most ordinary of days in the most ordinary of places… I’m so pleased Børli’s words stayed with you for the day! 🙂
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you!
